Ramos B lymphocyte cell lines
Engineered human Ramos lymphoma cells
InvivoGen provides two reporter cell lines derived from the Ramos B cell line. Ramos lymphoblast-like cells were isolated from a patient with Burkitt's lymphoma. Contrary to Raji B lymphoma cells, also from a patient with Burkitt's lymphoma, Ramos cells are negative for Epstein Barr virus genome sequences. These suspension cells are routinely used as a model of B lymphocytes and for apoptosis studies. Moreover, Ramos cells naturally express multiple PRRs, including TLR3, TLR7, TLR9, and NOD1. InvivoGen has engineered Ramos NF-κB/AP-1 reporter cells for the screening of relevant PRR agonists/antagonists.
All our cell lines are extensively tested for viability, stability, biological activity, and absence of mycoplasma to ensure strong and reproducible results. Moreover, we provide detailed handling and experimental procedures for all cell lines, to minimize the need for optimization or troubleshooting by the end-user.

Ramos-Blue™ cells stably express an NF-κB/AP-1-inducible SEAP (secreted embryonic alkaline phosphate) reporter construct. They can be used to study NF-κB/AP-1 signaling pathways in B lymphocytes, in particular the TLR3, TLR7, TLR9, and NOD1 signaling pathways. Of note, the Ramos-Blue™ cell line was selected for its ability to respond to CpG ODNs (TLR9 ligands).
Ramos-Blue™-KD-MyD cells are deficient for the expression of the MyD88 adaptor, downstream of the majority of TLRs. These cells do not respond/respond weakly to TLR7 and TLR9 activation, for which signaling is dependent on MyD88. However, they are still responsive to TLR3 activation, for which signaling is MyD88-independent.
